The aim and mission of the Transylvanian Heritage House Foundation is to preserve, keep alive and perpetuate the elements of the bygone or disappearing folk tradition and culture, whilst reintegrating folk art and popular culture in the everyday life of today and tomorrow of Transylvania, Partium and Moldova.

Our foundation is a strategic partner of the Hungarian Heritage House, based in Budapest, operating together with it, but at the same time as an independent unit. The headquarters is in Târgu-Mureș, and our regional offices are established in Cluj-Napoca, Odorheiu Secuiesc and Miercurea-Ciuc. Our board of directors is made up of nine members and includes outstanding personalities who safeguard the Transylvanian heritage and traditions, as well as representatives of the Sapientia Foundation.

In order to achieve our goal, we work along 12 strategic partners, other non governmental organizations that share our interest in preserving the Hungarian heritage. Throughout our work in implementing our vision, the regional offices often put together individual projects, whilst all four branches join in and plan common programmes, too.
